FOR THE ATTENTION OF MEDIA AND PUBLIC

Yörsan Food Industry Inc. Company, is asking EmekDunyasi.net to remove their news which was published in 2008, otherwise they’re threatening the site to file a lawsuit against them.

Back in 2008, 400 Yörsan workers were axed because they were unionized and EmekDunyasi.net covered the whole struggle which was led by the Tekgıda-İş Union and the workers.

Now the lawyers of Yörsan is asking us to remove those archived news and contents because they can be found by the search engines such as Google, and according to them it’s hurting Yörsan’s brand equity and commercial prominence which is worth more than billions of Turkish Lira’s. Company, is declaring that if those contents are not removed they’ll start taking legal actions against us.

We believe that if a company is so much concerned with their brand’s equity, firstly they have to respect the constitutional right of being a union member and we announce that we are not going to remove our news and contents from the archives.

We don’t have a slightest doubt about our news’ convenience and accuracy. EmekDunyasi.net was founded in August 2007 and we are behind our every single report, content and coverage since that day.

We wanted you to know that any further law action by Yörsan against the EmekDunyasi.net,  will be confronted by all of the labour world including it’s unions, publications and political parties.
