Extended extraterritorial memorandum

A closed session has been launched in Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) to negotiate on extraterritorial operation and diplomatic relations on Kurdish question. During the session, the memorandum has been extended for three times that permits to the extraterritorial operations to Northern Iraq.

A closed session has been launched in Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) after the developments that have happened in Kurdish question. The extraterritorial memorandum that permits to the military operations to Northern Iraq has been discussed on and diplomatic activities that are executed against PKK by the government. Minister of Internal Affairs, Besir Atalay gave information in the name of the government. During the closed session, "extraterritorial memorandum" has been approved with 428 favorable votes and 18 black-ball votes. Thus, duration of the extraterritorial operations have been extended for one year.

At the closed session, the authorization of the government to execute military operations to Northern Iraq via the Turkish Armed Forces has been extended beginning from 17th October, 2010 for one year. Before this, the authorization to execute military operations has been extended for two times.
